How to use your dried mushrooms
- Transfer dried mushrooms to a heat proof container and completely submerge the fungi in hot water.
- Soak for about 15 minutes or until mushrooms are soft and pliable.
- Remove the mushrooms, strain off the rehydrating liquid and save to use as broth.
- Now you have some beautiful Vancouver Island mushrooms and a flavourful mushroom stock ready to use!
With Poached Eggs or in an Omelettes, Mushroom Broth Ramen, Mushroom Ragu with Fresh Pasta, Herby Mushroom Soup, Mushroom Tasty Rice…you get the picture…in all your favourite mushroom dishes.
If you don’t rehydrate all of your mushrooms in one go, store them in an air-tight container.
